BINGU’S LOYALIST FLEES TO INDONESIA

Today’s blog has one rule for you my beloved audience. Open another Google window and search a very famous hotel based in Bali, Indonesia known as “Villa Malopa 5BR”.

The description of the facility on their website reads “Villa Malopa is a brand new villa nestled in the peaceful surrounding of Pererenan Village, 800 meters from the Pererenan Beach, Canggu on Bali’s south-western coast. It is perfectly suited for families and small groups of discerning people who want to experience the best Bali can offer”

It is surely one of the best hotels I have been to in my lifetime and every time Indonesia comes to mind, it is simply because of that treasured experience.

Indonesia is a country in South Southeast Asia and Oceania. It is an archipelago comprising approximately 17,508 islands. It has over 238 million people, and is the world's fourth most populous country. The nation's capital city is Jarkata.

Why are we suddenly talking about Indonesia today?

Very simple.

It has become a hiding place for one of Bingu’s most blue- eyed loyalists.

Due to limitation of his IQ, the guy has been securing jobs using an MSCE certificate belonging to one of his relatives. So allow me to use his original name, Macpherson shortened to “Mac”

Mac’s bolting will come as a surprise to many Malawians who are still burning with anger due to the grief that he caused when Bingu was in power. The guy was proud such that no one would have imagined him running away from his motherland.

His beyond-limits power came as he served as Director at one of the most famous and most abused parastatals in the country.

Dressed in tuxedos, Scottish kilt and bow ties on many occasions, Mac exposed his pride and defended his boss (who I understand was his uncle) tooth and nail. His first abuse of public funds started showing when he masterminded a political campaign for another of his uncles.

Confidently he took around his uncle to several institutions places of higher learning so that he could sell his manifesto. The uncle “a bad public speaker who spends most of his time hitting microphones when addressing the public” never utilized the opportunity to connect with the students at all.

Rumours are that if things had not changed, the “uncle” would have been giving lectures to kindergarten kids across the country by now.

Mac, who claims to possess a post- graduate Marketing qualification, has a trend which needs to be kept in check.

Years back he used to work as bursar at a secondary in Mzimba. The school is administered by Seventh Day Adventist Church. While there, he embezzled funds and bolted to the United Kingdom.

Upon arriving in the Queensland he secured a job as Dean at some Accountancy and Management School located somewhere near London Bridge. Concurrently, he contributed articles to an online publication.

When he came back to Malawi, it was to embezzle more funds at the parastatal. We never know what will happen when he comes back from Indonesia.

Another question on my mind is whether Macpherson has sold his mansion which he had just constructed in Blantyre’s newly developed posh suburb behind Mbayani Township.

For now, Macpherson will not be our concern anymore. Let him enjoy using the Rupiah as he adapts to his new found life. As for what kind of job he is involved in, that I don’t know.

But this blog will keep you posted.
